| NL Overkoepelend thema voor Manifesta 12 was de diversiteit aan culturele invloeden die het eiland gevormd hebben en waarvoor het concept van een tuin symbool voor stond. Om dit te benadrukken is voor de opening van het tentoonstellingsprogramma een mobiele installatie gemaakt rondom de bijzondere, en voor Europa unieke, flora van Sicilië. Met deze installatie, achter op de laadbak van een Italiaanse Piaggio Ape driewieler, werden de diverse locaties van de Manifesta aangedaan. Aan bezoekers van de Manifesta werden corsages uitgereikt waarin zaden van de Siciliaanse flora waren verwerkt, zodat bezoekers onbedoeld voor verdere verspreiding zouden zorgdragen. |
EN The overarching theme for Manifesta 12 was the diversity of cultural influences that have shaped the island and which the concept of a garden symbolized. To emphasize this, a mobile installation was created for the opening of the exhibition program around the special flora of Sicily and unique to Europe. With this installation, on the back of the loading platform of an Italian Piaggio Ape three-wheeler, the various locations of the Manifesta were visited. Visitors to the Manifesta were presented corsages containing seeds of the Sicilian flora, so that visitors would inadvertently cause further spread. |
